Climate Diplomacy, Science and Innovation
Main purpose of internship:
This role will sit within the British Embassy’s Economic Climate and Science team (ECS) and the successful applicant will be responsible for supporting the team’s work across a wide portfolio of programmes and diplomacy initiatives related to the climate and nature agenda.
The successful candidate will develop on a matrix management scheme, reporting to different team leaders at the same time and will operate across multiple and evolving environments. The position is a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in diplomacy and international cooperation, while learning about multiple subjects of the environmental agenda, supporting programme and project management and the delivery of diplomatic initiatives. The role will also develop closely with different teams across the Embassy (FCDO), as well as liaise with other relevant UK government departments.
The successful candidate should have the ability to perform in tight deadlines, managing various pieces of actions at the same time, with attention to detail and in an organised manner. This position will report to the Biodiversity and Oceans Officer and the Science and Technology Officer.

This internship is full-time at 35 hours per week. Typical hours are Monday to Thursday: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Friday: 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. The British Embassy in Colombia has a flexible working policy, allowing candidates to work remotely up to 1.5 days per week.
