Main purpose of job:

The main responsibility of this job is to provide an efficient accommodation service – managing the accommodation for British High Commission Dhaka, ensuring cleaning standards are maintained and that accommodation is fit for purpose.

The successful candidate will join the Corporate Services Team at the British High Commission Dhaka which provides essential support to all sections ensuring they have the necessary resources to function successfully. The Estates assistant is responsible for booking accommodation effectively, maximising on capacity as well as covering for colleagues in a busy estate team providing services to a wide range of internal clients.

Candidate will be responsible for Planning and actioning the Preventive Maintenance schedules; Provide general estates support to the Network Estates Teams, receiving, actioning and inspecting customer service tasks related to the Estate; monitoring and inspecting corrective works closely and effectively

This position is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the British High Commission compound and accommodation. This includes managing work requests, health & safety functions, fire emergency planning, arranging new accommodations for UK based staffs/families and handover vacated properties to the landlord. The Estates Assistant is responsible for managing an efficient cleaning, gardening and pest control contracts plus monitoring the usage of utilities. Working alongside the TWG team, this position ensures that teams provide a professional and an efficient service to support the staff and assure buildings are fit for use.

Key responsibilities: 

  • In charge of daily maintenance of the High Commission Estate, which includes health, safety and fire management.
  • To deliver a strong customer focused service to in-house teams, to internal clients and external stakeholders.
  • To process invoices (value less than £ 1,500) and payment (through GPC), raise purchase requisitions (PRs) and ensure invoices are settled within agreed timeframes by liaising with finance/ procurement division.
  • Liaison with utility companies eg internet, cable TV to pay UK based staff bills
  • Be responsible for the payment of residential properties rents
  • Maintain property details on Planon
  • Other Corporate Services Admin work may be assigned from time to time

Language requirements:

Language:  English   

Level of language required: Proficient

A language test will be administered

Learning and development opportunities (and any specific training courses to be completed):

Training will be provided on technical issues and post specific security issues once appointed.

Essential on arrival: 

Good level of English.

IT Skills:  Basic computer skills (MS Word, Outlook, Excel, Oracle)

Education:  Minimum of an undergraduate degree in any discipline

  

Desirable:

Experience working in an international organisation or diplomatic mission.

An IELTS score of 6 or above

The minimum salary for the grade is all inclusive of BDT 93,180 per month.
