Main purpose of job:

The jobholder to carry out the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities at FCDO owned and leased properties and to work with TWG Officers for maintenance activities. The another main duty of the jobholder is to manage material stocks.

Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?:

Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) (40%)

  • Take ownership of planned preventative maintenance activities such as flushing out water system, testing fire alarm system, cleaning taps and showerheads, cleaning filters, etc. at the Embassy office and residential properties
  • Carry out the planned preventative maintenance tasks and record results
  • Regularly check the properties according to PPM procedures
  • Record the data in PPM spreadsheet

Controlling stock and updating material list (30%)

  • Manage on-ground materials such as light fixtures, cables, pipe fittings, sanatory wears, other accessories and update the list at all time
  • Manage day to day goods in and goods out

Maintenance and event preparations (25%)

  • Work with TWG team for day to day property maintenance works and event preparations
  • Other tasks or responsibilities as business needs require

Project supervision (5%)

  • Supervise the Estate projects on behalf of the Estates Engineering Manager
  • Report to the TWG Supervisor and Estates Engineering Manager

  • It is required that the job holder have a diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or electrical engineering field
  • Good knowledge of Planned Preventative Maintenance procedures
  • Good knowledge of stock management
  • Good knowledge of project supervision
  • Good understanding of health and safety and risk assessments
  • Good knowledge of IT skills, including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Able to work unsupervised and as part of a team
  • Good English language skills, both written and spoken
  • Have Driving licence

Language requirements:

Language: Myanmar and English

Level of language required: Fluent in both

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with a strong customer focus
  • Strong time management and prioritisation skills
  • Personal drive and the ability to be a self-starter as well as a team player
  • Experience of a similar role in another Embassy, NGO or international organization

The British Embassy Yangon offers a competitive remuneration package, including salary, benefits, leave entitlement of 22 days per annum (calculated in pro rata).

Monday–Thursday: 08:00-16:30, Friday: 08:00-13:00
