Main Purpose of Job:
Reporting to the Corporate Services and Security Officer, the successful applicant will be one of three drivers responsible for driving the High Commissioner and Deputy High Commissioner. In addition, they will be required to drive other High Commission staff to appointments, ad-hoc procurement, the transportation of official visitors and assisting the Corporate Services team with general office administration, maintenance and ad hoc duties as required.
The High Commission operate a driver duty roster for out of hours work in the evening and at weekends for which fixed rate overtime is paid.

This role is advertised as a 2-year fixed term renewable contract.
The successful candidate must have or be able to obtain Work Authorisation for Papua New Guinea and valid Police Clearance Certificate. Any offer of employment will be subject to the candidate achieving suitable clearances.
Working Pattern:
The standard working week is 39 hours (Monday to Thursday: 0745 – 1615 nearmejobs.eu Friday: 0745 – 1245) inclusive of a 30-minute lunch break from Monday to Thursday. However, the nature of the role requires the successful applicant to work beyond these hours for which they are compensated by the fixed rate fortnightly overtime (PGK 400).
The successful applicant will be required to live on site during their duty week.
The successful applicant must have or be able to obtain Work Authorisation for Papua New Guinea and valid Police Clearance Certificate. Any offer of employment will be subject to the candidate achieving suitable clearances.
The FCDO also operates an agile workforce. To facilitate this, you may be required to undertake other duties from time to time as we may reasonably require.

The successful applicant will have opportunity to attend defensive driver training.
