The British Embassy Copenhagen is recruiting a hard-working, dynamic and politically-minded Press and Policy Officer to join its Communications and Public Diplomacy Team. Why should you apply? You will lead on producing our biweekly media summary, providing insights on the Danish media landscape and Danish perceptions of the UK to key-players in the Embassy and in London. You will also work with colleagues on our reactive news desk, responding to national and regional media queries, be a backup to the social media lead, and provide logistical and administrative support to the team. In doing so, you will help develop, distribute and place media content that promotes the UK’s image and interests in Denmark. You will have demonstrable experience of: media handling and monitoring, events delivery, contacts management, social media skills, collaborative work within and across teams, confidence in liaising with colleagues at all levels – including seniors- flexibility and effective organisation of your time, and delivery of results. You will be part of our friendly and high-performing Communications and Public Diplomacy team, working across the Political Section, and wider Embassy to understand the UK’s position on key issues. The British Embassy Copenhagen is part of a world-wide network representing UK political, economic and consular interests overseas. This role is an exciting opportunity to deliver on press and media engagement in a fast-paced environment, aligning the political and diplomatic context of the UK’s priorities with the output of our communications. Ultimately, you will contribute to growing the UK’s reach and influence across the Kingdom of Denmark, and contributing positively to the public perception of the UK in Denmark.
