Working for the Department for Business and Trade (DBT), within the Investment team you will deliver tailored advice to Danish companies to support their planned investment in the UK.

Main purpose of job:

Drive Investment into the UK from Danish Companies and Capital Investors. 

Roles and responsibilities:

  • The Senior Investment Advisor will maintain close relationships with key contacts within Danish companies with investment or potential to invest into the UK.
  • Deliver against DBT Denmark Investment objectives, help deliver towards overall DBT objectives as well post objectives working closely with colleagues across post.
  • The role will also be required to work closely with colleagues in the UK sector teams as well as colleagues across post. As part of the DBT Denmark team the role will also contribute to the wellbeing of the team and support colleagues as required.

Our Ideal Candidate Shows: 

  • Fluency in English (C1) and Danish (B1) is a pre-requisite, according to the CEFR*;
  • Minimum 3 years work experience after graduation in business/finance/economics;
  • Minimum Bachelor degree;
  • Experience with account management either from a business or a trade promotion role;
  • Strong networking and communication skills.

Nice to have: 

  • Degree on Master level in  business/finance/economics/politics;
  • Experience from working in a large complex organisation;
  • Experience from working with investment;
  • Strong Danish Business network, and understanding of Danish Business Environment.

What we offer: 

  • This is a full-time, fixed-term contract, to cover a maternity leave period, until the current job-holder returns to the role. This is anticipated to be a duration of 12 months; subject to a 3-month probation period; 

  • 35-hours working week with a focus on work-life balance, this role is primarily office-based. Flexible working of 1-2 days may be possible, subject to line manager agreement. The job holder will be expected to travel 10-20 days/year. 

  • British Embassy Copenhagen offers a wide range of training and development opportunities, and we strongly encourage a culture of learning and development. You will be able to develop your communications skills, and access wider in-house training and funding for Learning & Development courses, in agreement with your line manager;
