Main Purpose of Job: This job offers the successful candidate an opportunity to work in the high-performing Department of Business & Trade (DBT) team at the British Office Taipei. DBT’s role is to promote UK’s business interests worldwide, and the job holder will contribute to the UK’s prosperity by assisting UK businesses wishing to export to and/or establish a presence in Taiwan. The post advertised is for a Commercial Officer to support and progress existing His Majesty’s Government objectives in the region. The successful candidate will be joining a strong team in the British Office Taipei, which forms part of a regional team based in locations across Asia Pacific. The line manager for this role is based in the British Office Taipei. The successful candidate will join the Department for Business & Trade team at the British Office Taipei, working closely with colleagues across the Office and in London to support UK exports to Taiwan in cyber security (both business-to-business and business-to-government), as well as the broader tech and security sectors (e.g. AI). This will be achieved through regular business development and stakeholder engagement activities including events, conferences and visits.
