Job Description
The Youth Worker will work alongside kitchen staff dedicated to supporting the young people’s kitchen activity, and with guidance and support from GA Director Adam Sutherland. Cafe Teen launched in summer 2025, and is a hybrid youth arts / hospitality project, supported by private philanthropy. The local young people (currently 6 participants with up to 8 max.) split their time between creative projects that support the Cafe (e.g ceramics, graphics, social media) and kitchen and customer service, and receive a wage for their attendance. Cafe Teen has on-site workshop access where arts and crafts can be done, outside space and digital faciltiies.
Cafe Teen aims to support purposeful creativity, helping young people think about how creative ideas and approaches will enhance the work they are involved in, and supporting them to realise these ideas, assess impact, refine and build on them.
