⏰ Working Rhythm: Innovation is a 24-hour gig, but we value your downtime. Officially, your rhythm is set to the beat of Learner Engagement and needs. This is a full-time position, and the typical work week is Monday – Friday, but the days and times will vary monthly depending on when assignments are due and when terms begin and end. Unofficially? We know great ideas don’t always stick to a schedule!

A Day in the Life of a Teaching Faculty Member☀️

No two days are the same in this dynamic role! Your schedule will be guided by assignment deadlines, learner inquiries, and scheduled calls with students from our global community. You’ll embrace the flexibility to attend diverse meetings and webinars, balancing your work across different time zones. Some mornings will be dedicated to grading and feedback, while afternoons might be spent on interactive webinars or one-on-one sessions with learners. Evenings could involve exciting virtual discussions or collaborative meetings. Adaptability is key as you engage with our vibrant, international learner base, making a real impact every day.

Key Responsibilities ????

The Constants ????:

  • Deliver Engaging Courses: Based on your discipline, you will bring your subject expertise to life by teaching dynamic courses through the Canvas Learning Management System, inspiring and engaging learners every step of the way.
  • Connect with Learners: Be responsive and supportive by answering learner inquiries via email or live sessions within 24 hours. Host monthly webinars to foster a strong learning community.
  • Provide Timely Feedback: Offer personalized, insightful feedback on assignments within four days of submission, helping learners grow and succeed with clear, constructive guidance.

The Variables ????:

  • Support Learner Success: Work closely with the Learner Success Team to identify and assist at-risk learners, ensuring they receive the support and guidance needed to thrive.
  • Revise and Improve Curriculum: Regularly review and update course content and assessments to keep our curriculum fresh, relevant, and aligned with industry standards.
  • Engage in University Affairs: Participate actively in academic committees and contribute to departmental and university-wide initiatives, helping to shape the future of Nexford.

Skills and Qualifications ????

We value a diverse pool of candidates who bring a combination of skills, experience, and the right mindset to our team. While we don’t expect every candidate to have every point, here are some skills and qualifications that would make you a great fit for this role:

  • A minimum of an earned doctoral degree in a related field from an accredited educational institution. If your discipline is in accounting or finance, please note that we require a minimum of 18 semester hours in these areas.
  • A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably with prior online teaching experience, showcasing your ability to engage and inspire learners in a virtual environment.
  • A minimum of 4 years of professional experience within your area of expertise, bringing real-world insights and knowledge to the classroom.
  • Earned professional certifications relevant to your field (as applicable), demonstrating your commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Exceptional English communication skills, both written and oral, are a must. As a US-accredited university, we require first-class written and verbal English skills to connect and communicate effectively with our global learner population.

What Does Success Look Like in this Role? ????

In the Teaching Faculty position, achieving success means:

  • Ensuring course completion rates are at a minimum of 90%.
  • Boosting learner engagement through dynamic live webinars, small group sessions, and one-on-one interactions.
  • Contributing to a minimum goal of 90% learner retention by fostering a supportive learning environment.
  • Building strong relationships with the Learner Success team to enhance overall learner success.
  • Supporting marketing efforts to increase Nexford University’s brand awareness through blog posts, webinars, and other engaging activities.
  • Continuously reviewing and updating the curriculum to meet the evolving needs of employers and learners.
