Social Development Officer

General Description of the Organization:

Ghiras Al-Nahda is a Non-profit Non-governmental humanitarian organization working to empower people by fulfilling their basic needs and seeking to improve community stability and resilience.

Job Purpose:

GAN is working to hire a Social Development Officer to lead a team of volunteers in Turkey and within Syria, to develop and implement community activities in various fields focusing on education, child protection and other humanitarian specialties. This person will be responsible for proposing community initiatives and coordinating with stakeholders, and leading the team in successfully implementing the required projects.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Leading a Volunteer Team: Managing and directing a team of volunteers within Turkey and Syria to implement community activities successfully.
• Developing Community Initiatives: Proposing and executing community initiatives to empower the youth and enhance their role in society.
• Coordinating with Stakeholders: Building effective relations with local and international partners to support and expand the scope of the projects.
• Showing the Impact of Activities in Media: Coordinating with the media team to highlight success stories and the impact of community activities across social media platforms and media outlets.
• Developing Fundraising Campaigns: Contributing to the development of creative ideas for fundraising campaigns to support various humanitarian activities.
• Media Appearances: Representing the organization and speaking on its behalf at public events and relevant functions.
• Traveling to Syria: Ability to travel to Syria to implement and follow up on community activities and projects.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

• Age between 20-35 years old.
• University student or graduate.
• Proficiency in English and Turkish (mandatory).
• Strong communication and persuasion skills.
• Ability to manage volunteer teams with enthusiasm and efficiency.
• A leadership person capable of making media appearances and speaking on behalf of the organization.
• Belief in the role of youth in activating local communities and empowering refugees. Preference will be given to candidates holding Turkish citizenship.
