Job Description

Modern Painters, New Decorators (MPND) is an artist-led organisation based in Loughborough, East Midlands, delivering exhibitions, events, studios, and community programmes.

Folk Threads: Connecting Stories, Ecology & Community is an Arts Council England-funded project (July 2025 – June 2026) exploring connections between ecology, storytelling, and community through:
– Artist commissions and residencies
– Public workshops and events
– Partnerships with local organisations
– Work with underrepresented artists

The project has also coincided with a significant period of organisational development, including the opening of MPND’s new, purpose-built venue in Loughborough in autumn 2025. This has expanded the scale and scope of activity, introducing new programmes, partnerships, and audiences. The evaluation should take this changing organisational context into account when assessing impact and learning.

We are seeking an evaluator to deliver a light-touch evaluation of the project, drawing primarily on existing documentation and feedback, alongside a small amount of additional engagement.

The evaluation should:
– Capture key outcomes and learning
– Reflect the values of the project
– Support reporting to Arts Council England
– Inform future programme development
