Job Summary

This position offers an experienced fundraiser an opportunity to play a strategic role as YCAT shape and prepare the launch of a new strategy to widen our impact on a national, and international scale.

Job Description

Working within a small team, the Development Manager will take the strategic lead on all income generation with an aim to to grow and maximise fundraising opportunities.

YCAT’s primary income sources are from Individual Giving and Major Donors, alongside Trusts and Foundations. The Development Manager will strengthen and build on this programme whilst developing relationships and develop other sources of income (ie. Corporate, Legacy and Events).

2024 marks the beginning of the Trust’s 40th Anniversary, making it an exciting time to join the charity as we celebrate our history and look towards the next 40 years.

Job Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience in successfully raising funds, preferably for non-profit organisations or within the arts or cultural sector
  • Ability to think strategically in developing and implementing fundraising plans aligned with YCAT’s mission and goals
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain networks and cultivate long-term relationships with donors, sponsors, and other stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication to effectively articulate YCAT’s mission and fundraising needs to potential donors and supporters
  • Experience in target setting and managing budgets and financial resources, ensuring efficient use of funds for fundraising activities
  • Proficiency in grant writing and proposal development to secure funding from foundations, and other grant-making organisations
  • Genuine passion for the arts and a commitment to supporting young classical artists in their career development
  • Strong computer skills
