We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Executive Director to lead the California State University Fullerton’s Center for Healthy Neighborhoods. Located in Fullerton, The CSUF Center for Healthy Neighborhoods offers a wide range of education and health services designed to improve overall health and well-being. Programs and services are provided by an interdisciplinary team of students, faculty, and staff who understand the norms and values of diverse cultures.  The Center also serves as a site to train students and for faculty to conduct research. As the Executive Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all Center operations, including research, program management, fundraising, finance, and community engagement. You will work closely with the College of Health and Human Development to develop and implement the Center Strategic Plan and ensure the sustainability and growth of the organization.

Essential Duties
  • Implement the Strategic Plan to achieve the Center’s mission and goals.
  • Write grant proposals and assist faculty with grant writing to help fund Center operations, research, and program activities.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to secure funding from a diverse range of sources, including grants, donations, and corporate sponsorships.
  • Ensure sound financial management by overseeing budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Serve as lead representative and/or spokesperson for Center.
  • Oversee all program operations, ensuring high-quality service delivery and compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Work with the Director of Operations to lead and manage a team of staff, student assistants, and volunteers, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain a Community Advisory Board for the Center.
  • Collaborate and strengthen existing partnerships with non-profit agencies, city officials, Cal State Fullerton, and surrounding social services organizations.
  • Work with faculty to develop research and community projects through the Center.
  • Monitor and evaluate program outcomes and impact, and use data to inform decision-making and program improvements, and to write annual reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a community-based organization.
  • Strong understanding of non-profit management, including program development, fundraising, finance, and governance.
  • Demonstrated success in securing funding from a variety of sources, including grants and individual donors.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team towards the achievement of shared goals.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and best practices in the non-profit sector.
  • Commitment to the organization’s mission and values, with a passion for making a difference in the community.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated connections with local community agencies.
  • Demonstrated success in securing funding through corporate partnerships.
  • Demonstrated experience in higher education.
  • Experience working with collaborative efforts to build healthy communities. 
  • Experience with program evaluation and other efforts to assess progress and outcomes.
  • Served on community health committees/boards.
  • Experience working with K-12 education partners.
  • Fluent in speaking and writing Spanish.

 
EDUCATION:

  • Minimum Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Sciences, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Prolonged sitting in front of computer. Walking, talking, hearing, pulling, bending, may carry 10-15 pounds of objects/material, not exposed to extreme noise level, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, taste or smell.
