Job Summary
Job Description
This freelance role focuses on generating income to support WRM’s ongoing projects, bursaries, and core operational needs. You will help ensure that WRM engages with a diverse range of funders – from trusts, local authorities and foundations to local businesses and community partners – and that we make the most of every opportunity to secure sustainable support. The role is primarily home-based, with some flexibility required for meetings, events, and occasional visits to WRM’s premises. You will work closely with the Creative Director and be part of a small, dedicated team committed to widening access to music across Wiltshire.
Music making is at the heart of what we do. You don’t need any musical ability, but a passion and understanding for how important music is in the lives of young children, the elderly and everyone in between is a must.
The hours are 27 per month, on a freelance basis.
Job Requirements
Working closely with the Creative Director, you will be responsible for securing funding for our key projects:
Keep Music in Mind (which provides music in care homes and memory cafes across Wiltshire).
Student Bursaries (which bring music tuition to low income families in Wiltshire)
Core funding (keeping the charity afloat)
Musical Lunch Club (a two weekly club for over 65s where music and lunch are provided.
All our projects, plus potential new ones, need funding via local councils or private trusts, so great experience in writing applications is a must. You will be required to provide feedback and evaluation once the budget is spent, gathering feedback from the events and producing reports detailing the success of the project. You’ll need great knowledge of local funders and the desire to research new opportunities.
