Freelance heritage and creative learning specialist

The Landmark Trust is looking for an experienced freelance consultant with a background in heritage or creative learning to work with us to design a lesson plan and accompanying activity pack and resources which inspires students to create patterns, textures, and artworks inspired by Mavisbank House. These designs will eventually be digitised and applied to 3D letters to decorate the boundary hoarding of the capital works site around Mavisbank House.

Mavisbank House has a wealth of stories and history to tell; it has huge cultural and architectural value. Part of the challenge of this role will be identifying which of these stories to share with our target audiences. The activity pack produced in this role will need to be inspired by the building’s history, cultural context or surroundings, and share this with our target audiences in an engaging educational format with clear curriculum links. To support this, the successful candidate will be provided with the Conservation Management Plan, which contains all the current research we have on the building, to support the development of the activity pack and lesson plan.

The activity pack will target school pupils and be tied to the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence. An alternative will also be available for Youth groups/uniformed groups/community groups of mixed ages.

This is a fixed term, freelancer contract with a set budget.
