Love Music are delighted to recruiting for 2 experienced singing leaders to join our ground-breaking teacher development partnership project for the next two years.
Our artist practitioners will be exceptional singing leaders with knowledge and experience leading inclusive, play-based singing in primary schools. Their role will empower primary teachers to feel confident in using singing in their classrooms as a tool to build community and wellbeing for children in P4-7. They will have experience in creating or working with a diverse range of appropriate songs and singing games which ensure belonging, inclusivity and equity. They will be mentored and supported by a wider producing, evaluating and partnership team. An ability to share knowledge is a key aspect of the role. Our Artist Practitioners will be able to support teachers to become confident in using singing in their classrooms as a tool to support wellbeing, learning and belonging.
The Sing for Wellbeing Schools programme is a 2-year active learning partnership project. Our partners include Love Music, 8 primary schools based in Edinburgh, Education Scotland, Edinburgh Council, Queen Margaret University, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and specialist consultants. The programme will be part of the Paul Hamlyn Foundation Teacher Development Fund initiative and supported by Creative Scotland.
These are freelance, fixed-term contracts. The two Artist Practitioner roles will each receive a total fee of £23,750 over the 2 years across 95 days of work. Our rates comply with Creative Scotland’s Fair Work policy including MU rates.
