We are looking for a Laboratory Analyst – Pharmaceutical Department (6-Month Contract) in 40 Modulus Road, Ormonde, Johannesburg, Gauteng 2091 ZAF. Your mission will be to:

Mérieux NutriSciences M&L Labs in Ormonde, Johannesburg South is seeking a Laboratory Analyst to join our dedicated team in the pharmaceutical department on a 6-month temporary contract. This role is vital for ensuring accurate, reliable, and compliant testing that supports product quality and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will bring technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards in laboratory practice.

About the Role

• Conduct routine and specialised analytical testing of pharmaceutical products and raw materials.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments (HPLC/UPLC, UV/Vis, GC, Wet Chemistry, Dissolution, LC-MS and GC -MS)
• Prepare samples, reagents, and solutions according to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Record and maintain accurate test results in line with ALCOA Principles
• Prepare, analyse, and interpret data in line with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
• Document all work accurately in laboratory notebooks, worksheets, and electronic systems.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with colleagues to meet project timelines and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

YOUR PROFILE

Qualifications & Experience

• National Diploma or BSc Degree in Analytical Chemistry, or related chemical/scientific field.
• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a pharmaceutical or analytical laboratory environment.
• Strong knowledge of analytical techniques and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in laboratory software and data analysis tools (LIMS exposure advantageous)
• Excellent organizational skills, accuracy, and ability to work under pressure.
