This is both a creative and technical role. The successful candidate will have primary creative responsibility for the lighting, while also being able to technically develop and operate the lighting system during rehearsals and performances.
Schedule
Pre-production: creative meetings and preparation in advance of rehearsals
Technical rehearsals: approximately 2 days in February 2027
Dress rehearsal: 1 day before the first performance
Performances at The Cockpit Theatre:
18 – 20 March 2027
A Theatre technician will provide technical assistance during the process.
Freelance Opportunity.
Guaranteed fees: £400 (including meetings and 2 days creation in the venue)
One day in February: 9 am – 6 pm + 18 March: 10 am – 7 pm
+ Participation of the Net Box Office from the subsequent 10 performances (percentage to be discussed).
We are looking for someone experienced, creatively driven and comfortable working quickly within a limited creation period. As the technical period will be relatively short, familiarity with The Cockpit Theatre would be helpful, but is not essential.
