Job Summary

The Creative Programme & Artist Development Officer will play a key role in the development and delivery of the Arts in Libraries programme.

Job Description

You will work with the other four members of the Arts in Libraries Team (and the wider Project Team) to plan, manage, develop, promote and deliver arts initiatives within St Helens Libraries and occasionally within the wider community and/or online. You will work closely with staff and communities to embed diversity, excellence and talent development opportunities through an inclusive and relevant arts programme to engage the breadth of the demographic of St Helens including work for family audiences, global majority, children & young people, LGBTQ+, ‘Broad Appeal’ and Disability Arts audiences.

Job Requirements

21 hour post.

The role is fixed term until March 2027. The post may be extended beyond this date subject to external funding.

This is a creative and rewarding role for a highly motivated and organised individual, who has the necessary skills, knowledge, and experience to manage the Visiting/Touring programme of work, commission arts engagement work and manage/lead on aspects of Continued Professional Development for St Helens based creatives/artists.

The shift pattern is flexible, but the post holder must be available to work on Wednesdays to attend project team meetings.

The post holder will work from various locations including home working and/or hot desking as required by the needs of the job and must be able to work some evenings and weekends when producing, facilitating, or assisting at events.
