Overview
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity at the heart of an ambitious fusion energy project? Join our Security and Safety section (SES) as a Security Systems Maintenance Coordinator.
As a Security Systems Maintenance Coordinator, your goals will include:
Coordinating the maintenance of physical protection equipment, security systems, and associated devices at ITER Organization (IO), including but not limited to Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), Access Control and Intrusion Detection Systems, and radio communication systems.
Ensuring deliverables are produced according to project schedule and budget, within a quality-assured environment that requires rigor and a systematic way of working.
Developing, under the leadership of your discipline manager, your skills and experience for the benefit of the Project.
SES is responsible for all matters related to occupational health & safety (OHS), security, protection against acts of malevolence and emergency management, in compliance with the Host State’s regulations, including the protection of persons and goods, of nuclear materials, of data, and of the health and safety of the workers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities:
Coordinates and ensures the maintenance of physical protection equipment, security systems and associated devices at the ITER Organization (IO), including but not limited to Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), Access Control and Intrusion Detection Systems, and radio communication systems, under the supervision of the Security Systems Engineer.
Manages maintenance contracts related to the security (e.g., ITER fence, access control…) and ensures effective coordination with service providers and internal stakeholders.
Establishes and maintains the technical consistency and performance of physical protection and security systems — ensuring that both functional and physical attributes remain aligned with requirements, design, and operational information.
Keeps all technical and operational documentation related to physical protection and security systems up to date and properly managed.
Prepares and issues technical reports, including condition and performance analyses, ensuring traceability and supporting decision-making for system optimization.
Supervises and participates in daily technical operations of physical protection and security systems.
Additional Responsibilities:
Contributes to the design, qualification, installation, integration, commissioning and maintenance of new physical protection and security systems (including associated cabling and infrastructure).
Keeps abreast of technological advances and benchmarks activities to identify and recommend continuous improvement opportunities for security systems maintenance.

This position is shift and/or on-call based, and crucial to maintaining continuous operations and ensuring the highest level of service for our stakeholders. This requires shift rotation and/or availability including day, evening, and night shifts, as well as weekends and holidays, depending upon project or team needs;
Experience & Competencies
Essential:
Comprehensive experience in managing and maintaining CCTV, access control, badging, intrusion detection, and fence detection systems.
Security Systems: Administering and maintaining security system servers, workstations, and equipment, identifying and assessing risks, in particular cyber security risks, proposing mitigation and protection measures.
Project Management: Planning, monitoring, and managing projects and contracts, including risk and cost management, scheduling, and reporting.
Troubleshooting: Analyzing problems, determining root causes, engaging stakeholders, and implementing effective, security-driven solutions.
Continuous Improvement: proposing changes to processes and systems to enhance efficiency, quality, and productivity over time.
Quality Management Systems (QMS): apply the applicable procedures related to your field of activity.
French Security clearance is required for taking up the position.
Desirable:
Experience in communicating and implementing innovative procedures and methods for security systems maintenance, technical procedures and operational methods for physical protection and security systems.
Organizational Savvy: maneuvering comfortably through complex policy, process, and people related organizational dynamics.
Optimizes Work Processes: knowing or identifying the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Essential:
Master’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, ideally with a specialization in security, control systems, electronics, or another relevant technical discipline.
The required education degree(s) may be substituted by extensive professional experience involving similar work responsibilities and/or additional training certificates in relevant domains.

Knowledge of these competencies may be acquired through on-board training at basic understanding level for all ITER staff members;
Implements the technical control of the Protection Important Activities, as well as their propagation to the entire supply chain;
May be requested to perform other duties in support of the project as defined by your line manager, and when relevant upon the request of the matrix manager;
May be requested to work outside the ITER Organization reference working hours, including nights, weekends and public holidays, due to business needs – this may include on-call, shift work, etc.
May be requested to be part of any of the project/construction teams and to perform other duties in support of the project;
For staff expected to perform on-call, shift hours, or other work outside ITER Organization reference working hours, including nights, weekends, and public holidays, the possession of a driving license valid in France is required. no commuting vehicle will be provided by the ITER Organization.
Informs management of any important and urgent issues that cannot be handled by line or matrix management and that may jeopardize the achievement of the Project’s objectives;
